If you’re in the age group of millennials, you’re probably a go-getter individual who finds themselves wishing for more hours in a day. We certainly do, and unfortunately, working out seems to be the area that suffers the most.
Since you’re probably in major school debt, working an unpaid internship, or starting up a business of your own, gym memberships may not be so budget friendly. On the more extreme end of things, hiring a personal trainer to make sure you’re getting the most of your workouts for a couple hundred dollars, is definitely out of the question.
Luckily for us, apps have got our back. We’re narrowed down the five best fitness apps that are actually worth downloading. These apps give you schedules, detailed workouts, trainers motivating you throughout the session, and the best part, are all time efficient! The only thing that you may end up hating is the fact that you have no more excuses to miss a sweat sesh!
This is the app for you fit girls who have a love-hate relationship with cardio. With routines for walking, running, biking, and HIIT, Apptiv will guarantee that you break a sweat. Trainers will talk you through you workout, and you can choose your own intensity as well as your own duration. Therefore, no matter what you have going on, you can always squeeze in a workout!
This is one of my (Olivia) personal favourites. I love the Nike+ Training Club app because you can set up a plan that will help you reach certain goals. You can adjust your rest days to fit your schedule, and the workouts are never boring. You don’t need to use any equipment and you can even incorporate running with the Nike+ Running Club app (if you want to). If you miss a workout, you don’t get that oh-so-satisfying check mark, so the pressure it amped up, just a little bit.
Onto Michelle’s favourite, Kayla Itsines. I don’t know if I even need to explain this, since it’s such an online sensation. To quickly break it down, it’s a 28-week plan to whip you into shape. Each session is about 30-minutes long, alternating between two circuits for 7-minutes, two times through. Saying it out loud sounds easy, but these workouts really kick your a**.
Sworkit adjusts to your needs. You can choose your goal of getting leaner, stronger or fitter. Whatever you choose, the workouts will get you there. The trainers within Sworkit at there to help you hit your goals without having to pay a fortune at your local gym!
The name alone intrigued us to click on this app. We are so happy that we did! These workouts are designed to be done at home, so it literally couldn’t be easier. Of course you can do them wherever you want, but rolling out of bed and only walking a few steps to your morning workout seems pretty nice. If you’re looking to get fit but grow or maintain those curves, this is the app for you!
